What I love about the Orijen Cat and Kitten Dry Food is that it’s good for most cats of all ages. Both growing kittens and adult cats can share, making it more cost-effective and less of a hassle to buy.
I like that it’s made without grains or preservatives, ensuring that it has at least 85% of animal protein cats need to stay healthy. It also has only 15% of carbs from healthy sources, containing fruits and vegetables safe for cats to ingest. I highly recommend this particular flavor because my cats have like the flavor.
I tried it on kittens too and they had no problems digesting it, having solid poop and frequent urination. I just recommend you soften it up for younger ones with milk or wet food. With that said, I commend Orijen for their dry food made for all life stages.

What makes Tundra different form the first is the fact it’s made for adults and fled with nutrients they need. It’s made with a host of quality meats, such as: Fresh Boer goats, boars, venison, arctic char, ducks, and even mutton. That’s 40% protein and only 18% of low-glycemic carbohydrates, ensuring that they have all their needs.
Another thing that makes Tundra special is that they use FRESH or RAW meats, without any preservatives or whatnot. Since it includes a host of enticing meats that cats would usually consume, selective eaters would like it. Even my cats seemed to appreciate its flavor.
After a few weeks, I noticed that they have more energy and none have grown sick or weak. I believe that Tundra helped them feel even stronger and is a good alternative to raw meat diets. If you want to try the raw meat diet but have no time to prepare the meats, then you’ll like this.

This type of Orijen food focuses more on overweight cats and those who require lower calories. It can for senior cats as well, who can consume dry food but without too many calories.
Like most of the dry food varieties from Orijen, they offer a mix of dehydrated, fresh, and raw animal proteins, as well as low-glycemic carbohydrates with necessary nutrients.
However, I was a bit surprised that for low-calorie food, it contains 445 calories a cup! That’s higher than some standard cat food servings. But do note that Orijen’s products are usually calorie-dense, made for smaller portions.
I still highly appreciate that it offers more animal protein that would most likely satiate a cat. That way, they won’t feel hungry as often or feel like they’re starving! So if your main focus is something low-carb and lower in calories, then try Fit and Trim.

Orijen Six Fish Dry Cat Food
For cats who prefer consuming something seafood-based, the Six Fish flavor comes from the wild fish from New England. It includes fish such as herring, flounder, mackerel, redfish, silver hake, and monkfish. Because of this wide variety of seafood, it makes up of 90% of the whole formula.
Most of the fish are fresh and raw, while a part of it is dehydrated for a higher concentration of animal protein. To help make it tastier for cats, there’s cod liver included in the formula as well.
I appreciate that it has a higher protein and lower carbohydrate content, so I know my cats are eating more of what they need. Just make sure that your cats aren’t allergic to fish. Also, it’s important to take note that a pure seafood diet might not be best for the long-term for the risk of contamination from metal or other toxins fish may have.

Orijen Regional Red Dry Cat Food
For those who want something made from land animals, I recommend the Regional Red. As the name suggests, it’s made from all red meat, coming from quality meats such as Angus beef, Boer goat, wild boar, and mackerel, as well as Yorkshire pork. It contains 90% of animal protein and only 10% of healthy carbohydrates, enough of what cats need for stronger bodies.
It has a slightly higher protein content compared to other Orijen dry foods, though it does take time for cats to get to like the flavor. My cats didn’t like it at first, though began eating a bit more of it after a few days.
