What to buy
Cat Flea and Tick Treatments by Brand
Collars, spot-ons and sprays, by brand.
These differ mainly by how the active ingredient reaches the cat — a collar releasing slowly over months, a spot-on absorbed at the skin, or a spray applied as needed.
Before you use one: Flea and tick products are pesticides. Follow the label, never put a dog product on a cat — several common dog actives, permethrin especially, are toxic to cats — and speak to your vet before treating a kitten, or a cat that is pregnant, elderly or unwell.
