Compare a flexible grooming surface with wire bristles

KONG identifies the purple ZoomGroom as model CZG with a thermoplastic elastomer working body. That flexible material gives it a different construction from the slicker brushes in this collection. Compare the actual surface and grip with the tool your cat currently accepts rather than assuming that every brush with a massage description will feel alike.

The manufacturer describes gentle circular grooming and a separate bathing method using shampoo and rinsing. Treat those as distinct uses with their own directions. A brush that can be used during bathing is not a shampoo dispenser, and it does not establish which cleaning formulation is appropriate for a particular cat. Keep the brush instructions and shampoo label separate.

For ordinary grooming, select a position where you can control the pressure and see how the coat responds. Follow the stated technique instead of pushing harder to remove more hair. A flexible surface can still be damaged or used in an unsuitable way, so inspect the working tips and body before each session and stop if the tool catches or the cat objects.

Consider cleanup and storage as part of the purchase. Remove collected hair using the maker's guidance and let the tool dry if it has been used with water. TPE construction is a verified material detail, but does not by itself permit dishwasher cycles, boiling or chemical treatment. The ZoomGroom is worth comparing when a flexible grooming-and-bathing tool is the function you need, rather than a wire slicker or a brush specifically for furniture.
