Make the 28-inch cube a practical room layout

A 28 by 28-inch square occupies about 5.44 square feet before allowing for open doors or cleaning access. Mark that outline on the floor with a removable paper template and arrange the intended bedding and bowls inside it. That exercise helps distinguish an outside cube measurement from usable living space. The second level changes the layout vertically, but does not increase the width of the floor beneath it.

The listed climbing ladder and quick-release buckles are relevant when checking the assembled configuration. Look at the route between the doorway, lower area and platform. Confirm the actual platform dimensions and the way the ladder attaches if either feature decides suitability. Their inclusion does not establish that a particular cat can comfortably move between levels or that a custom panel arrangement is supported.

Non-slip pads are one part of the setup, not a reason to ignore the floor underneath. Use the surface and assembly method specified in the instructions, and check that the completed frame sits evenly before adding supplies. Keep the snapping connectors accessible for inspection. The package lists cable ties as well; match their placement to the supplied assembly guidance rather than using them to improvise a lifting handle.

Consider the room outside the enclosure too. You need clearance to open the access points, replace water and remove soiled items without shifting the entire structure. If the pen is stored between uses, keep its parts and instructions together so the same intended configuration can be rebuilt. Its metal panels and contained layout should be evaluated as an enclosure system, separately from the carrying handles and secure base required of a travel carrier.
