Draw the assembled layout with supplies in place

Before choosing the Dextrus enclosure, sketch how you would arrange its panels, upper platform and access points. Then add the items that will actually occupy the enclosure, including a resting surface and any food, water or litter equipment. A two-tier description can sound spacious while leaving little clear movement area once those objects are inside. The upper platform does not replace a usable floor route.

Ask for the assembled footprint and full height of the exact configuration you intend to build. The unreliable short height field is not a sound basis for placing the enclosure below a shelf. Panel spacing, platform dimensions and door openings also need to be considered individually. A long outside measurement cannot tell you whether a hand, scoop or removable tray will pass through a particular door.

The listed clips and cable ties are assembly components, not evidence that every improvised layout has the same strength. Follow the supplied arrangement and reinforcement instructions. Check where connector ends will sit, how the platform is supported and whether each access panel closes as intended. If you change the configuration later, repeat those checks instead of assuming the original platform rating applies unchanged.

For everyday access, plan how you will reach the back corners without dismantling the pen with a cat inside. Leave room outside its doors as well as inside the footprint. A metal modular enclosure makes most sense when you need an assembled indoor area and can inspect its joints regularly. If the actual task is carrying a cat to an appointment, compare a purpose-built carrier rather than selecting this playpen because a retailer uses travel-related wording.
